In the upcoming Bollywood rom-com, “Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya,” Shahid Kapoor takes a leap beyond the conventional romantic tales, reminiscent of Joaquin Phoenix’s journey in the 2013 Hollywood film “Her.” However, Shahid’s story introduces a unique twist as he unknowingly falls in love with a robot portrayed by Kriti Sanon.
The trailer kicks off with the duo’s overseas encounters, featuring lively dance sequences, romantic moments, and even intimate scenes. Shahid, seemingly oblivious, brings Kriti’s character home to his North Indian joint family, which includes veteran actors Dharmendra and Dimple Kapadia. The family is captivated by Kriti’s character and her remarkable abilities.
The unexpected turn comes when Dimple Kapadia’s character, Shahid’s maternal aunt and a scientist, reveals Kriti’s true identity as a robot. The revelation leaves Shahid grappling with the realization that he has fallen in love with an artificial being, raising questions about the emotional depth of robots.
The film, directed and written by Amit Joshi and Aradhana Sah, promises a blend of romance, comedy, and sci-fi elements. Produced by Dinesh Vijan, Jyoti Deshpande, and Laxman Utekar, “Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya” is set to hit theaters on February 9.
As the storyline echoes shades of S Shankar’s 2010 Tamil sci-fi blockbuster “Enthiraan,” where a robot and its clone fall in love with a human, the film invites audiences to ponder the complexities of emotions in the realm of artificial intelligence.
Stay tuned for the unveiling of this futuristic romantic comedy that challenges the boundaries of love and explores the uncharted territories of human-robot relationships.
