Rumors have circulated that Kareena Kapoor Khan and Shahid Kapoor, who starred in the original, may reprise their roles. The film was a box office success upon its release and has since gained a cult following. Despite many speculations, no official announcement has been made about a sequel yet.
In an interview with News18, Imtiaz talked about Jab We Met 2, “No, it’s not happening. I don’t have a story for Jab We Met 2 yet. I’ve heard of these and read these reports and articles. Nobody asked me before publishing them, so I don’t know what to say. But let’s see what happens.”
